Yep, that's what we're doing...we've been in Meridian, Idaho for about 18 months. We knew we were supposed to come here long before we ever got here...like 3 years before!! Which, looking back is probably a good thing that we had to wait...cuz once we got here, it has been a most challenging experience all the way around!
The best thing I can say about this experience is that even while we have been going thru some deep trials, we always knew this is right where the Lord wanted us to come....and for our struggles, we were blessed with a beautiful daughter-in-law, Tisha. She was worth the trip.
Kent has been laid off since July 2nd, 2007...and today is the first day when I did not open my eyes and immediately plead with Heavenly Father to bless us with a job...that prayer was answered yesterday...a new job, back home in Colorado, right where my heart wants to be.
Where Dean is...I am so entirely grateful for this answered prayer, there are no words to describe my relief and and and...{sigh}....no words.
So the kids and I will remain here in Idaho until school is out, then we'll make our way there.
I have learned so much and even in the midst of trials been blessed! Good people have come into my life...I've had opportunities to do what I love, and to serve really awesome families thru my Doula service, and my Humanitarian calling( I learned to QUILT!), and in my ward RS calling. It has indeed been a "joy and a blessing"--this experience in Idaho.
Now, I am ready to move on and move forward...ready to bloom in a familiar garden once more.

A New Day
So I am following the example of friends and family and creating my own Blog...blog...what an awful sounding word. Who came up with this word to describe an online diary? And secondly, who agreed to it?? "oh yeah, "blog" that sounds cool...totally." Probably 2 kids half my age is who!
So it's February 2nd...Groundhog's Day...Puxatawny Phil says we've got 6 more weeks of Winter. And I am okay with that. Danielle will be home in 9 more weeks from her mission to New Jersey. Time has flown by already, and she will be home before we know it. It wouldn't be so bad if I could just call her up about once a week and hear her voice, ya know? The silence is what makes this time stretched out to infinity and beyond!
Today was not a day I would like to repeat, however. Today was the funeral for President Gordon B. HInckley. Held in the Salt Lake Conference center, filled to capacity and then some, as faithful Latter-Day Saints came together to pay their respects and say their goodbyes. People even lined the streets on the way to the cemetary in Salt lake, waving white handkerchiefs at the passing motorcade the hearse was leading. It made me wish I lived there, because I would have done the same thing. There's not much I can say here that hasn't already been said of the goodness of Pres. Hinckley. To me, he was a perfect example of an older brother showing us all how to love the Savior, how to Serve the Savior, and how to be happy doing it. As a convert, I paid special attention when he spoke to the converts of the church, when he acknowledged us, and the trials we go thru and overcome to be faithful LDS. On a personal level, I have a special letter signed by him, granting permission to be sealed to Kent and to all of our children for time and all eternity 3 years ago. To know that a Prophet of God spoke my name and my family's name in prayer on our behalf to Heavenly Father, created a bond I shall always honor. I love President Hinckley. I will miss him so much.
Arianna calls him "President Behinckley"....you can guess why. I hope she never forgets him.
It's snowing here tonight. Meridian has gotten more snow this past week than it has in 20 years. I'll take full credit for it too...lol...Heavenly Father knows I miss the Colorado winters...so this is all for me!
So this is the beginnning of a "blog"...(gotta come up with a better name!)...between this forum, and my journals, and MYSPACE and Facebook, I think I'm covered!!! Now I go to find out how to upload more pics!
