Sick Days, Forts and Harry Potter

This is what I saw when I opened the Boofus' bedroom door...a mountain of blankets & pillows topped with neon orange cones...Caboose popped up her head and gave a fake frown.

I rounded the corner and found the Caboose...if you look closely, you can see their portable dvd player, a Carl's Jr cup, and Isabella--the Caboose's comfort kitten.

The Boofus--contentedly playing with his Legos, as usual.

We're on week 4 of being sick with acute bronchitis. While I am so over this--at least the kids are being creative. I've contacted the school nurse and asked what I can do about sending them at least for half-days until this awful cough is over...the doctor says it can last another 2 weeks or longer. And yes, it is still contagious by the particles that are released into the air when they cough. ugh. So rest and fluids with mucinex is the Rx for them. And apparently, building a fort using every available pillow, and Harry Potter helps too.

  1. They must be really contagious. I have an awful cough too! It is the worst. Sweet David is taking good care of me. Hope they get better soon!

  2. Wow! What creative kids you have! And what great brother/sister bonding time they are getting! :-) You are a saint. At least they look like they are getting along well and enjoying their confinement. Good luck with the next two weeks.

  6. thanks to everyone who commented. I feel quarantined with these kiddos. They have been getting their school packets--but I am going to ask for tutors for both of them, b/c of the amount of lost class time.
If it weren't for these awful coughs, they'd be good to go. I think I'll make appts for them tm'rw morning at the Dr's just for peace of mind--again.
