Last year...BEST. EVER.
http://momza.blogspot.com/2008/05/best-mothers-day-ever.html
We were living in Idaho last Mother's Day. Mr W had been laid off for almost a year by then, and because of lack of funds, I hadn't been able to see Dean for over a year as he still lived in Colorado in a host home. Dean has cerebral palsy. He is the soft-spot in my heart and I rarely spoke about how much I missed him, but truly my heart ached. A gal in my ward, felt impressed to make my Mother's Day a truly wonderful day I shall never forget...this is that story.
Grab a tissue. I still cry every time I read it...Lorna, I love you still. Thank you my dear dear friend. The family is already lamenting that there's no way they can top that one!! I told them to give it a try, but I secretly know, there's just no way.
I hope it was so worth it to you.
Family. Means. Everything.
Hiya! Thanx for the comment, and yes, there are at least two of us out there that own The Fart Book (I've had it since early-to-mid-90's). Luv your blog!
ReplyDeleteOh my! Thanks for the tissue warning! What a sweet post. And I agree, the best part of Mother's Day is having your children near you. At least I will have four of the five. :-)
ReplyDeleteAwww, I totally got tears in my eyes! How wonderful! Wow is an understatement! I remember when I had little ones the only thing I wanted for Mother's Day was an uniterrupted long hot shower. It didn't happen and I was kind of upset, but then I thought like you did -- that's what being a mom is all about and it's ALL a blessing!
ReplyDeleteWow. That's a beautiful story. You are well loved by this friend, which says a lot about the person that you are.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great memory!
=)
Thanks for sharing!! That is such an awesome story and experience. Happy Mother's Day to you!! Patsy
