Sharing What We Cherish the Most

As a family, we have taken the opportunity to share the Gospel with our friends and neighbors as often as we've had the chance to do so. It is something we just do. It comes easy to us for some reason. We just open our mouths and our home.

One of the things we've had are "cottage meetings" or "firesides" in our home--and that turns out well. We invite ward members to bring their non-member friends where the missionaries teach whatever they're inspired to teach, there's a musical number, and a load of refreshments.
It's a bit of work and planning, but it has gone well.

It's easier to do this:
Because we feed the missionaries most Saturday mornings, and because we have a housefull of kids--there's usually overnight guests at the table on those mornings too. Or for dinner or other events where we invite friends, we also invite our sweet missionaries. And on and on it goes. We live our lives and invite our friends into it too. As a natural consequence of our friendships, we share what is most important to us: our faith.

This week, the missionaries are teaching a young friend of Daisie's here in our home. Tonight, as her mom came to pick her up, I invited the Mom to come and sit in on the discussions with her daughter. I just felt that as a Mom, I would want to know what my daughter was being taught.
So she's coming. And it'll be nice to get to know someone new. Isn't it always?

Look, LIFE is scary these days. Our neighbors/co-workers need to know they are not alone in their trials; that they have a God in Heaven who knows them, loves them and hears their prayers--spoken and unspoken. We don't have to shove our faith down anyone's throat--whatever you are, or profess to be--be it wholeheartedly. If it's getting you thru the rough spots, share it-- for there are others who are grasping for heaven's help in this day and age we live in. Oh how we need to hear the voice of heaven to drown out the fear-drenched society we live in! There is peace yet to be found. Let us so live that when others look at us, they see His countenance in us.
Daisie is so happy for her friend, T. Sharing what we love the most gives a joy beyond measure.

Share what you have, will ya?

  1. It's always a great thing to have the gospel taught in your home, isn't it?
