I've been blogging about a year and a half, thanks to my wonderful daughter-in-law, Tisha.
I have had opportunities to browse a cornucopia of blogs, and as others have stopped by mine, I have grown personally, spiritually, even intellectually. I read blogs by SAHMs, working Moms, decorator moms, cooking moms, travelling moms, budgeting moms, and most recently moms and dads whose children are fighting the good fight: to stay alive.
I stumbled upon Gage's Blog written by his father, Charles. http://gagepruitt.blogspot.com/2009/07/no-words.html
It's a small blog with a huge heart.
It made a difference in me. My trials were snapped back into perspective because of this father's generous offering in telling the story of his son's disease and the very sad outcome yesterday.
While the world was mourning the loss of a self-destructive entertainer, there was a little family saying their "good-bye's" to their brave little baby boy. Go there. Take a tissue.
Is blogging just another time-suck? Can sharing our online diaries of our daily lives benefit others? Do you find yourself thinking about blogs long after you've turned off the PC?
Today, I want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to those who stop by and share my lil blog, leave comments of cheer and support, and who invite me to do the same. So thank you.

In other news:
**It's going to be 90-freaking-degrees here in the Springs today. I'm looking for a swimming pool to take the kids. The Springs-area is "swimming-pool challenged"...whereas in Meridian, Idaho there is a pool in most neighborhoods, here in the Springs' developers haven't tapped that amenity to it's fullest yet.
**Big Shout-Out to Nan who showed up at my house last night bearing gifts for me: a cream-filled-chocolate-covered doughnut and a Klondike bar. You rock!
** No word from the Nanny Agency...which is really buggin' us out. Yes, we've called them (in Hawaii) and left emails.
I wish you lived closer so I could welcome you to my pool! (Of course, if you lived in my neighborhood, you'd probably have one of your own...) That's California for you.
ReplyDeleteI'm on my way over to the blog you mentioned and yes, taking a tissue. (Why? Because I AM affected by the blogs I read.) Including yours.
=)
It really does make the world smaller. And I agree with you. When you run across a blog like Gage's, it seems the things you might be going through become trivial.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reminder.
Yep sometimes thats what we need is to see what someone else is going thru and realize that our problems dont seem so bad after all.....(HUGZ) to you and you are more than welcome to bring your kiddos to my pool!
ReplyDelete@Sue: Thanks for the invite to your pool! and your kind comments.
ReplyDelete@Dena: You have a great perspective, and I appreciate your kind words.
