A Break in the Clouds

Clouds gather in ominous display.
Swirling, clinging
closing out the sun
from view.

Yet powerless
against the mighty winds
of change
that inevitably blow
to reveal
the sun was shining
all along.

Let my eyes search
for the blue skies
that are only hidden
while the storm presses
and like a feather
blows away
and leaves
a rainbow hanging
where a lightening bolt once
threatened to destroy.

Let me see the break in the clouds
while the storm yet gathers.
