My favorites are fruit pies.
But I learned how to make pecan pie when I was 15 because that's my dad's favorite pie.
Then I went to Marie Calendar's. And I discovered something about myself.
I am hopeless when it comes to picking my favorite kind of pie. The pic above is called Million Dollar Pie. Since I've never heard of that one, I am kinda giddy about trying to make it this weekend--ya know, for National Pie Day...because I am a Patriot and I like to show my support for this great country in ways my family can appreciate...and there is never a bad reason to make a Pie.
Anyone have a great pie recipe they wanna share? Saturday is the Day. Buy or make a pie for your self or your family!

P.S. The kids are fighting like cats and dogs. Like Mike Tyson and Evander. Like Tweety Bird and Sylvester. Like Wylie Coyote and Roadrunner. Like Paula and Simon. Like 2 kids who've been locked up in the same room for too many days. "She's annoying me!" "He's a jerk!" "Get out of my room!" "Stop talking to me!"
Ahhhh....I feel better about the whole thing now. The sounds of wellness have reappeared. There is hope. That means I only had to check on them twice--out of habit I suppose, to make sure they're okay. And they were. So I slept, like 8 hours. Eight! Not 1 hour and 45 minutes like Monday night. Not the 4 hours night before last. Eight FULL wonderful hours. YES!... Sweet Freedom.
I need to send a "shout-Out" to my blogger friend for suggesting "shower steamers"!
The kids really liked them. Me too. And to everyone else who cheered us on...we're nearing the Finish line. Thank you!
I also love pie and as a pie afficionado... I have to inform you that you missed National Pie Day! It was Jan 23.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I believe that EVERY DAY can and should be PIE DAY! I had wanted to do an entire day of pie- chicken pot pie, pizza pie, etc. LOL!

Pie Day??!!! What a brilliant thing to celebrate! I am going to start searching now for the perfect thing to make for such a well deserved holiday! Thanks for the info!

ReplyDeleteYUM-ER-ROO!
Pi Day and Pi Approximation Day are two holidays held to celebrate the mathematical constant π (pi). Pi Day is observed on March 14 (3/14), due to π being roughly equal to 3.14. Pi Approximation Day is observed on July 22, due to π being roughly equal to 22/7.
ReplyDeletePi Minute is also sometimes celebrated on March 14 at 1:59 p.m. If π is truncated to seven decimal places, it becomes 3.1415926, making March 14 at 1:59:26 p.m., Pi Second (or sometimes March 14, 1592 at 6:53:58 a.m.).
The first Pi Day celebration was held at the San Francisco Exploratorium in 1988, with staff and public marching around one of its circular spaces, and then consuming fruit pies; the museum has since added pizza pies to its Pi Day menu.[1] The founder of Pi Day was Larry Shaw,[2] a now retired physicist at the Exploratorium who still helps out with the celebrations.
So how cool is that? There are TWO National Pi/e days!! WOOOOHOOOO!
ReplyDeleteglad to hear you are on the Road to Recovery. And I'm hopin' you yourself don't catch any of these germs!!!
