I think it's safe to say
The Strike is Over.
I made dinner...
it was a small offerring,
to test the familial gratitude resolve--
ravioli and garlic bread.
Everyone gathered without
a single
whine
complaint
or
turned-up nose.
There were
"thanks, Mom."
"this is good."
"yum!"
And the girls cleaned-up
afterwards.
I think the Strike may have
gotten their attention.
We'll see.
Aww. You are a softie. ;)
ReplyDeleteIt seems your point was well taken. I,m impressed, your family learns very quickly. Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that you went on strike! I've thought about it, but have never gotten the guts to actually do it. Oh, and at the age my kids are right now, they probably would actually starve...nah, they have fruit snacks a-plenty. :)
ReplyDeleteNow, let's hope they have looooong memories!
ReplyDelete=)
awesome!
ReplyDeleteOh, how I wish my children were old enough to fend for themselves should I decide to go on strike! It's not a good sign that we're having ingratitude problems already and my oldest (2) will turn 5 tomorrow. And, apparently, it doesn't get any better . . .
ReplyDeleteSide note: your oldest daughter (the mama) looks SO MUCH like you. So much.
Congrats on grabbing their attention!!!
ReplyDeleteI love that you did this. And then relented. My MIL went on strike when children 8 and 9 were 13 and 11. She is still on strike and I'm married to #9. Apparently, the strike backfired. Because he complains as much as the kids do about things that he doesn't like. . .
ReplyDeleteGood for your family. Nothing like going without for a little while to appreciate what you have. :-)
