Molly Mormon for a Day

Today I played pretend...
I pretended I was a Molly Mormon.
It was a total hoot!

I got up at five-thirty a.m.
and made eggs and toast and juice
for Daisie
to send her off to Seminary.

Then I got out my sewing machine
and sewed 4 pillow shams
for the Caboose's school teacher
who wanted them for her reading circle.
Forget that she gave me the pillow forms
2 months ago, okay?

While I sewed,
I turned on
"Pride and Prejudice"
to keep me company.

I love that movie.
I am infatuated with Matthew MacFadyen:
I could just lick his face, ya know?

Is it even legal to be this good-looking?

I know all the words in the movie--
well the good ones--

What??

While I sewed,
Nana lay on the deck in the morning sun
anxious to tan her winter skin...
with the door open
so she could hear the movie too.
Silly child.
She wants a Mr. Darcy, most ardently.

Then we took the shams to Mrs. Z who asked
if I'd be interested in making some more--
my head shook "yes"
while my brain was inside screamin'
"nuh-unh!"

After that,
I went to Hobby Lobby
because I'm doing a makeover for my own
family room
which I am way stinkin' excited about.

I (heart) Hobby Lobby--
and missed it something fierce
while we lived in Boise.
I wander down each aisle
and get lost in all the "pretties".

Then I went grocery shopping
and got 10 quarts of fresh strawberries
and 8 pints of blackberries
then I came home and made it all
into preserves!

Is there a cure for Molly Mormon-ness?
or will it go away on it's own?
Yikes.
I'm tired.

I am your antithesis......(did I spell that right).
Ya, no Molly Mormon goin' on here.
I just ate 15 chocolate chip cookies and they were NOT homemade and I haven't read my scriptures yet today. AND...I ate prepackaged brown rice from the microwave!

Hopefully you'll let me hang around with you anywayz.

  7. Cure for Molly Mormon day? Hm. Let's see.
Screaming imperfect kids that run all over the elementary school's bingo night under the watchful glare of the school principal. Think I'll get my teacher request now?

  8. I'm not sure if there's an MM cure or not. (I've never experienced it.) But I wish I would...just for a week or so...Because we need to get some stuff done around here!

    =)

  9. Is that what those days are called? I find that sitting down at the computer first thing cures productivity rather quickly.

  10. Ooh-Mr. Darcy-yummy-I spent 6 hours last Fri watching the long version of PP with my daughter. Not very Molly-Mormonish if you ask me. But go google Matthew MacFayden. He's not quite as cute in real life. Burst my bubble ya' know?

  11. I have NEVER had that disease so I wouldn't know the cure for it! And we have a HOBBY LOBBY right up the street in Meridian now over by Kohl's. Haven't had the funds to indulge, but hopefully some day. I like to window shop!

  14. I ♥ Hobby Lobby. We don't have one here. I did recently discover we have a Michaels though. And I bought lots of ribbons to make pretty hair bows for my little girl and hoping this next one's a girl too. ;)

    Your day sounds fantastic!

    BTW,
The Matthew M. & Keira K. version is o.k. if you have limited time to watch butI like the long version 6 hr. 1995 P & P miniseries. It's the best !

  16. @Nikki: Michael's is better than nothing...and ribbons are fun. Try not to think about how sad you are that there's no HB around. sniff, sniff. And my day was busy!
@Nonna: I have seen the longer version. Now, I'm curious!
@Lorna: You made a cupcake out of a sweater! You are SO a MM!
@Marilyn: DOn't tell me these things! LOL
@Charlotte: SO glad you have found the cure!
@Sue: Maybe you could pick up a MM at Costco?? Surely they sell them in Utah??
@Jen: Bless your heart. That's all I can say. Bless your mommy heart.
@Egan: LOL! I laughed so hard at your comment! LOL
@Lori: HB is a whole other dimension...take people with you to pull you out!
@Cherie: If I'd known they were building a HL, I woulda stayed! And I LOVE that you have Mr Darcy on your Iphone. totally love it.
@Rachel Sue: It was a productive day...completely opposite of today.
    @Sarah: You and Me both.

  18. I haven't seen Pride and Prejudice. I know, I'm lame. But after seeing that handsomeness, I think I'm gonna watch it. Soon!

  19. Hee! I've had more than a few days like that myself lately. Been getting ready for our Stake Humanitarian day sewing more quilts than I am accustomed to. Strawberries looked toooo good last week not to make jam outta them . . .

And Mistah Darcy - (this is MY all time favorite!)

Mr. Darcy: How are you this evening, my dear?
Elizabeth Bennet: Very well. Only, I wish you would not call me "my dear."
    Mr. Darcy: Why?
Elizabeth Bennet: Because it's what my father calls my mother whenever he's cross about something.
Mr. Darcy: Well, what endearments am I allowed?
Elizabeth Bennet: Well, let me think...”Lizzie" for everyday, "my pearl" for Sundays, and "Goddess Divine," but only on special occasions.
Mr. Darcy: And what am I to call you when I'm cross? "Mrs. Darcy?"
Elizabeth Bennet: No, you may only call me "Mrs. Darcy" when you are completely, perfectly and incandescently happy.
Mr. Darcy: And how are you this evening... Mrs. Darcy? Mrs. Darcy... Mrs. Darcy... Mrs. Darcy!
    [kisses her]

  21. I was impressed with hot breakfast. Everything else is beyond my realm of possibility, unless you consider stapling sewing.

  22. LOL Stapling = Sewing?? I did not know this! Thanks!
