1- Be adaptable to your environment.
2- Leave the Past in the Past.
3- Good manners can open doors that a good education cannot.
Three things I learned from my Children:
1- Don't compare yourself to anyone else. I quote David Scott, at 5 years old: "I am my own self."
2- Noone likes a know-it-all. Arianna, "I know somethings too, Mom. Let me show you."
3- Sharing is necessary to build relationships. Diana, "I haven't seen my shoes on my own feet this week, Dara's always wearing them." Dara, "That's cause Dani borrowed mine and hasn't given them back yet."
Three things I learned from my Mr. Wonderful:
1- We can handle anything with enough time, money or laughter.
2- Not everyone needs to hear every thought in my head.
3- Jumping to conclusions before you know the whole story is dumb.
What about YOU?
Can you name three things you've learned from your family?
Very profound!
ReplyDeleteAmazingly smart children!
Happy Mothers Day to you!
This is great I might have to borrow your idea. I like your hubs answer: Not everyone needs to hear every thought in my head. I had to laugh- he's such a man.
ReplyDeleteGreat post, Momza. I'm too tired right now to think. But this helped cheer me up when I needed it.
ReplyDeleteThis is brilliant, I love it!!
ReplyDeleteThat there is no such thing as "getting back to normal." This IS normal.
ReplyDeleteThat people are way more important than schedules.
That there is no place on earth more fun than the kitchen table with every family member gathered around it.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and for reminding me of all the great gifts family brings.
=)
I love the things you have learned. Great post!
ReplyDeleteI KNOW (giggle giggle) that I have learned many things but I can't think of them right now :D
I hope you have a wonderful Mothers Day!!
What I have learned from my family?
ReplyDelete1- That different personalities take different discipline approaches
2- It is easier to wait till someone is ready to learn something than to try to force feed it to them early
3- Kids can make messes 4 times faster than you can clean them up.
@Charlotte: Gold Star for you!
ReplyDelete@Cherie: Is your hubs in Construction?
@Sue: I like your list too!
@sarah: Brilliant? you are too kind, my friend.
@Braden: I'm here all week.

3 things huh..... Well, they are probably
ReplyDelete1) Everyone is lovable
2) As a mom, I can't fix everything
3) The family is the greatest invention of all time.

Happy Mother's day
Roxanne
Great idea! I love all your answers. I'll have to think about this....hmmmmm....
ReplyDeleteIt's a good thing they can't hear every thought in my head, they'd wonder why they are always in such a swirl, or maybe they'd just understand why I can't seem to extract the proper information at the proper time :)
ReplyDelete"Adversity is almost always temporary" Hallelujah :)
Kristin
Happy Mother's Day!! I am down the street from you (a few miles) at the moment. We came last night and are leaving in the morning. And I am glad today is a warmer day than what we were experiencing in Greeley!. :-) As for lessons from my family--I have learned a lot, but here is one that stands out from my husband, "If you can't share what you have when you are poor, you won't share it when you are rich." I have found that to be true.
