I Fell In Love with Fall a Long Time Ago

Do ya see it?
Un-hunh.
Right there.
Photographic evidence.

Ever since I laid my eyes on those yellow leaves,
a battle has ensued in between my ears.
I'm ready.
So so stinkin' ready
to get out all of my Fall stuff...
to break out the red dishes
and the orange/golden/ placemats,
the harvest wreath and rust candles,
and I wore a long-sleeved shirt yesterday.
Long-sleeved.
key word: Long.

But it's not TIME yet--
have to wait until Labor Day.
I think I need a Count Down to Fall Calendar--
Twenty Days...
I think I can
I think I can
I think I can.

What about you?
When did you Fall in love with Fall?
What are you excited to do when we get the "GO!" light?
As a nod to Cherie at Bakow's Bubbles,
get out your crockpots and then! go over to the
Crockpot Lady's Blog: 365 Days of Crockpotting...
good stuff, Maynard.

Fall is intoxicating to my senses...
Twenty Days Til Fall....

  1. I'm going live fall vicariously through your blog because, as you already know, there is no such thing as fall where I live.

  2. Fall has always been my favorite time of year, even when I was a child and I am a California girl so go figure.
The smells in the air, the leaves, the hearty foods, the cool mornings, Halloween and Fall decor, and also my birthday :) All have made fall my favorite season.
This year I am especially excited because the new paint job on the house will really compliment all that fall decorating!
    Thanks for the shout out!

  4. Fall is my FAVORITE season. I think I was about nineteen when I fell in love with Fall. I was in such a romantic rosy-eyed stage of life. And Fall is so romantic. Cooling air, crisp leaves falling from trees, the smell of fireplaces coming to life, apples ready for harvesting, the smell of baked pie and the glow of candles. *sigh* We don't really get Fall here. I'll have to leave vicariously through you. I bet Colorado would be the perfect place to enjoy fall.

I do, however, have some beautiful quilts and pillows for my living room that embrace fall.

  5. And there's only one week till school starts here! And to me, fall means soup, and I could eat soup every day when I'm pregnant.

Here's to hoping we get an actual fall here, and not Summer one day and snow drifts the next.

  9. NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Please not yet. Pretty please.
I LOVE fall too, but we hardly had summer in these parts and I'm not sure if I can handle seeing fall come so soon.
Cuz you know what is right after that.

  11. I'm a fall person myself. For me, it's getting out the harvest-type decorations, candles, etc...just that feeling of "spice" in the air. (And starting to smell the smoke from people's fires when I walk in the neighborhood at night...)

    =)

  12. @Sue: Dontcha love it?!
@Tauna: I know what you mean, summer flew by, but I love the change of seasons. And with you in Hailey--I fear your winter more than I fear mine, no kidding. What can I say to make you feel better? lol
@T:It was in the 50's here overnight. I can't do heat. I'd be a mess.
@Missy: I'm so there with you! I love pie!
@Lori/Joy: HA! I used to do the same thing...create the seasons indoors! You Go Girl!
@Stacy: How far along are you? Soup is so my winter food too! love it! and Chili!
@Nikki: Fall is romantic isn't it? One of my fav movies is "You've Got Mail"...and it starts in the Fall.
@Julie: Exactly...time for cuddling, fireplaces, and earlier evenings and sunsets.
@Cherie: Is there anything bad that can be said about Fall?? Convinced all good things come together in the Fall, pretty sure. And you're welcomed--loved your post.
@Marilyn: As I recall your Fall starts in November--but you can do as Joy does, in fact, I bet you do!

  13. I started loving fall when I was in New Jersey. My favorite thing was driving to the little townships because the roads were lined with trees. I swear the trees there have more colors than the trees in Utah. My favorite thing about fall is that I can wear hoodies. I love, love, love hoodies. I'm glad I didn't read this post until today because I'm fall-hungry now. :)
