Where We Went N' What We Did--Rocky Mountain National Park, 2.0

 bag o' omelets for breakfast--always a hit!

scramblin' around on rocks in her pajamas!
cuttin' firewood...nevermind that it's already been cut.  that's no reason not to cut it again!

 Blue blue skies
Spotless bathrooms!  Running Water!  No cobwebs even!  loved. that.

The kids know these trails--
they've been coming since they were babes in backpacks.
They never tire of going.
We're all grateful we live in a beautiful place.

What about you?
What do you love about the place you live?

  1. Just looking at this makes my blood pressure drop. And the music doesn't hurt, either.

I love all the trees and flowers and greenery where I live, and the nearby redwoods. And the beach. All wonderful!

    =)

  4. What a wonderful and fun camping trip you must have had.

What I like about where I live:
    We are one hours drive away from any of the following;
the ocean (if you have never been to the Oregon coast you are missing out), the mountains, lakes for fishing and waterskiing, large city entertainment, LDS temple, Mt. St. Helens monument, great camp grounds.

For a mere 2+ hour drive you can be to the drier deserts of eastern Washington, the beautiful Columbia river gorge, which has some awesome waterfalls, beautiful scenery and hiking trails.

Oh ya, and we have no poisionus snakes, scorpians, black widow spiders, chiggers or fire ants...but we do get lots of rain.

  5. Looks like you had a great trip! I also think it is wonderful for kids to have roots in the places that they live AND in the places they vacation!
    For us that is McCall!!

  6. We just got back from Rocky Mountain National Park ourselves! I wonder if we took some of the same hikes? It was our first trip there, ever. We loved it and have promised the kids we'll go back next summer. The aspens were beautiful with fall color!
