Lists: What do you List about?

Hi, I'm Momza and I'm a Listmaker. Hi Momza.

I started making lists when I was a youngling. Back then my lists included a pony of my own and a Barbie Dreamhouse.
My lists changed as the Sears Christmas Catalog got larger. My lists included lots of bell bottom pants and purple socks like Donny Osmond's.
I started keeping my lists in my Journals. Every January 1st of a new year, I would re-write my lists...they would carry over from year to year with little differentiating. Then, I had children.
Oh my! did my lists change then! SLEEP was put on the list.

Through my 20's my lists were mostly selfish. What I wanted to be, to have, to go.
My 30's lists were more material. What I wanted to have, to own, to go.
My 40's lists got shorter and shorter. What I wanted for my family to have, to own, to go.
Now centered in my 40's and leaning to the 50's my lists are more in the moment kinda lists. Grocery list, bill paying list, sending a card to a friend list, write a letter to a missionary list. More personal. Less selfish. Memory-loss has forced that habit on me now. If I dont' write it down, I'll forget.

My list today is to be steady. Be constant. Be true.

What about you? What's on your list?

p.s. thx to chocolate chip waffle for the prompt

(The first thing on my list today is to make a plane reservation to fly home.)

  2. I am a list-aholic. I lvoe my lists. I usually have a list of the things I hope to accomplish...but never do on any given day. my list can vary from things I need to pack, things I need to purchase at the grocery store, who I need to call and what I need to say to them...as I never remember. Go figure. I don't mind. My grandfather had Alzheimers and he had his lists too. It made me smile in the end to hold one of his lists...tell my wife I love her, hug my daughter, thank my son-in-law for taking care of me, try not to forget who I am today.

We must never forget who we are today. Thanks Grandpa!!!
