Ever have a dream that is so real, that it jars you awake and you still aren't sure if it was a dream or not?
Last night, or early this morning--whichever, it was 3am I was dreaming that the house was being broken into...I kept trying to get Mr Wonderful to wake up and go check things out in my dream...then somehow I managed to wake-up long enough, nudge him and say, "Someone's broken into the house!"
Well, he FLEW out of bed and headed downstairs like a bat outta you-know-where.
It was right about that time that I came to my senses and thought, "Wait. Was I just dreaming?"
He walked all over the house, checked the doors and windows, went up and down 2 flights of stairs, checked in each of the kids' rooms (4 rooms! two up top and two in the basement), and the garage-- before coming back into the bedroom and asking, "Are you sure you weren't dreaming? You do this about once a year, and it's about that time."
I said, "Man, I hope I'm not going crazy."
"Going? Hun, that ship sailed long ago."
My Protector snuggled back into bed and before I knew it, he was snoring in my ear again while I was left alone with my thoughts. The first of which, "I wonder when he'll roll over and get his heavy arm off of me?"
I owe him breakfast in bed for sure.
Oh, that's so funny! You seriously do that once a year? I'm glad he ran around a checked for you, though.
ReplyDeleteThis morning I was supposed to get up at 6, but slept in til 7. In that hour I dreamed I caught my husband giggling with another woman ... those dreams make me crazy mad. Poor innocent husband has to wake up to a slightly miffed wife. After running a lot, I forgot. Silly dreams.
ReplyDeleteToo funny! What a great man to get up and check it out. I woke up one night to loud banging in the basement (when it was just my husband and myself). Terrified I woke up my husband and he said, "Sounds like someone banging on the door" and rolled over and went back to sleep. I still tease him about that.
ReplyDeleteI've done that to my husband a few times, too, and he is pretty good-natured about the checking...but you're right, you owe him breakfast!
