Qualability

as in...
"She is a person of high qualability."
That's a word that Daisie made up
when she was around 3 years old
and we still use it.

We have lots of "words"
and phrases that are unique
to our family.

"Pompalope" is cantaloupe. (Daisie)
"Cerrin" or "Seerin" is cereal.(David Scott)
"Yark" = vomit.(an old bf of Dani's)
"Peetzta" = pizza.(David Scott)
"Runners" = tennis shoes.  As in, "Go get your runners on, we're leaving soon!"(David Scott)
"fish-eye-to-the-sky" = gratitude for a blessing.  As in, "Did you give a fish-eye-to-the-sky when your prayer was answered?" (Kent)
"Bahooey"= bum, butt, behind. (Joseph)
"You F-R-O-T-O-P!" = an exasperation with someone.  Our special-needs son, Dean taught us that one.  He tried to spell a naughty word and that's what came out.  Yeah, we still use it.
"thingers"= fingers (Dani)
"Da Stoy"= the store (Nana) Used in a sentence: "Ok, I'm headin' out to da stoy, be right back."
"Peet" = feet.  (Joseph)

And loads of others.
Does your family have their own language too?

  1. I will always think "dolphin" instead of telephone when it starts ringing because my li'l brother used to yell that whenever the phone would ring. Years of speech therapy later he can say it correctly, but it's cuter as a dolphin.

    and "Snoot Frack" is the one I miss the most from my children being little. we don't even buy fruit snacks anymore - but when the kids see them at the store the old name still comes out.

  2. G'mornin' Momza and Crew..
    just had to smile at your post!
    everyone.. I mean EVERYONE has a special language..
    unique to them..
    whether it be the sweet thangs we use for coversing with a sweetie/hubs/family..
    or the language I and the furbabies use..
    everyone marvels (snickers) at BeBe and i..
    we do communicate verbally..
    and by facial expression/eye contact..
    but the best and most special language..
    is that of unspoken LOVE..
    human-feline, human to human..
    no words needed at our house..
    love lives here..
    but we adore communicating verbally and physically nonetheless!!
    warmest hugs..
    Loui♥
